Parents & carers

We know how important it is for our families to plan ahead, so here you’ll find a full list of school term dates and holiday dates. We kindly ask that family holidays are arranged outside of term time. If you need to request exceptional leave, please contact the school office.

Timetable Links

At our school, every young person has a personalised timetable designed to help them thrive. With small class sizes, high levels of staff support and a broad range of subjects, we ensure that learning is engaging, supportive and enjoyable.

Dress Code

We want our young people to feel comfortable and confident at school while maintaining standards that are respectful and appropriate for a learning environment. We encourage individuality and self-expression through clothing, while asking everyone to follow a simple dress code:

No hats or hoods should be worn indoors.

No face coverings, unless agreed with parents or carers for religious or medical reasons.

No very short shorts or skirts.

No tops that are low-cut, cropped or reveal underwear or the midriff.

Footwear should be safe and suitable for school activities.

Our aim is to create a relaxed yet respectful environment where students feel part of the school community and are able to focus on their learning.

Transportation

We offer transport to and from our education provision for students whose journey to our centre may otherwise be a barrier to learning. Our dedicated 12-seater Solid Steps minibus provides safe and reliable transport, ensuring that every learner can attend consistently and comfortably.

Lunch

Our SS Dulwich students are provided with a freshly prepared lunchtime meal, made on-site each day by our in-house chef. We offer a warm, homely menu featuring a variety of delicious Caribbean-inspired dishes, nutritious options and rotating weekly specials.

Each meal is thoughtfully prepared to be comforting, culturally familiar and nutritionally balanced, supporting our students’ wellbeing throughout the school day. We also cater for dietary requirements, allergies and personal preferences to ensure that every learner enjoys a safe, enjoyable and nourishing lunchtime experience.

Medication & Allergies

To help keep all students safe, parents and carers must provide all required medication every day, including EpiPens, inhalers and any prescribed medication. Students cannot attend without their emergency medication.

What Parents and Carers Must Do

  • Send all medication in its original packaging, with the student’s name and dosage instructions clearly displayed.
  • Hand all medication to a member of staff on arrival. Students should not carry medication unless this has been agreed as part of their individual healthcare plan.
  • Inform us immediately of any new allergies, medical conditions or changes to medication.
