Parents & carers

We know how important it is for our families to plan ahead, so here youll find a full list of school term dates and holiday dates. We kindly ask that family holidays are arranged outside of term time. If you need to request exceptional leave, please contact the school office.

Timetable Links

At our school, every young person has a timetable that’s designed to help them shine. With small class sizes, plenty of staff support, and a wide mix of subjects, we make sure learning is engaging, supportive, and fun.

You can view each group’s timetable here:

Dress Code

We want our young people to feel comfortable and confident at school, while keeping standards that are respectful and suitable for a learning
environment. We encourage individuality and self-expression through clothing, while asking everyone to follow a simple dress code:

No hats or hoods to be worn indoors

No face coverings (unless agreed with parents/carers for religious or medical reasons)

No very short shorts or skirts

No tops that are low-cut, cropped, or show underwear/midriff

Footwear should be safe and practical for school activities

Our aim is to create a relaxed but respectful atmosphere where students can focus on their learning and feel part of the community.

Transportation

We offer transport to and from education for students whose access to our centre may be a barrier to learning. Our dedicated 12-seater Solid Steps minibus provides safe, reliable pick-up and drop-off to ensure every learner can attend consistently and comfortably.

Lunch

Our SS Dulwich students are provided with a freshly prepared lunchtime meal made onsite by our in-house chef. We offer a warm, homely menu with a variety of delicious Caribbean-inspired dishes, nutritious options and rotating weekly specials. Each meal is designed to be comforting, culturally familiar, and balanced to support students’ wellbeing throughout the school day. We can also cater for dietary needs, allergens, and personal preferences to ensure every learner enjoys a safe, enjoyable, and nourishing lunchtime experience.

Medication & Allergies

To keep all students safe, parents and carers must provide all required medication every day, including EpiPens, inhalers and any prescribed medicines. Students cannot attend without their emergency medication.

What Parents Must Do

  • Send medication in original packaging with the student’s name and dosage clearly shown.

  • Hand medication to staff on arrival, students should not carry medication unless agreed in their care plan.

  • Inform us immediately of any new allergies, medical conditions or changes to medication.
